Accounts of sensory deprivation tanks are novel. The originator of the tanks, John C Lilly,  collected short written accounts from the majority of the people who entered the float tanks in the early 1970's.

In the absence of external stimuli these passages become brief representations of the ineffeable. -- throwing into relief the limits of description.
